About this deal

The third act of Morrison’s run on Batman has a greatly expanded scope and cast, as Batman decides to franchise his crime-fighting across the globe even as a vast conspiracy begins to close in around him. He cannot be understood because he has detached himself so distantly from humanity that Pyg has become something else. like alot of his other work it can be somewhat mindbending and incoherant to follow but its a bloody enjoyable adventure.

Morrison had only written Batman twice before this landmark run, and both prior stories have also achieved legendary status in the nearly 30 years since their release. I would love to see that extended to an issue’s length, but it’s stunning how the story goes from “wacky sixties time travel adventure” to “Gordon and a heavily armed SWAT team” so fast, and so effectively. Nicknamed Man of Bats by these primitives, Bruce finds himself in conflict with future immortal villain Vandal Savage in his early days. Morrison does revisit some of his characteristic themes and motifs: the day of initiation that is also eternity, the necessity of passing through the abyss, the instability of reality, evil as physical degradation and decay. Mind you, it goes on at least a few issues too long, with the middle two issues of the Batman of Zur-en-arrh punching things being the slowest bit.feature a deconstruction of superhero comics like no other, with a challenging, thought-provoking take on the man behind the cowl. One two-page spread has panels that make the shape of Batman’s symbol with a black fist coming up through the center.

Then, Batman and a group of global heroes face a killer on a mysterious island, and Batman relives an adventure in the life of young Bruce Wayne: the hunt for his parents’ killer. It’s quite fun and diverting and energetic, but it feels pretty much like filler – as if Morrison suddenly felt his Batman ideas were moving too quickly and he suddenly needed to slow down to let us all catch up.One of the greatest storytellers of his generation, Grant Morrison's arrival onto the Dark Knight was one of the most hyped debuts in industry history. This title also includes two new story pages written and drawn by Chris Burnham that recap events from ‘The Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul.

Bruce Wayne is back under the cowl, and to better serve his mission, he's trained heroes around the world, along with the help of longtime allies such as Catwoman and Batwoman. How are you supposed to find something based on the table of contents if the pages are not numbered? But this is Damien trained by the league and his insane mother, so he's vicious, a asshole, and beats the living shit out of Tim and even offends alfred. The Adam West television show is derided for its camp, but Batman would be nearly as iconic without it.

Quizá esto dicho así, no sea muy llamativo, pero hay que recordar que Batman tiene más de ochenta años de historia, y que ha pasado por muchas etapas.
