This book has soooo much going on in it, at first it seems like it would be nearly impossible to keep it all straight and understand what is happening but honestly, that is not the case at all. Because this book is so well written and the concepts are nicely thought out, those three storylines, as well as the other characters all, mesh together so well. How they each spill over and influence others was perhaps my favorite part of this book. Seeing how this is done and how the characters come to realize it is so much fun to read. I didn’t know your aunt well but everyone talked about her in the most loving way. When I did have a chance to meet her she was so good natured and kind hearted. I am very sorry for your loss and offer my condolences.

I also had an issue with slight touches of colorism in this book. Honestly, if you’re not well versed in the topic, you would easily miss it. And given that several of the characters in the story were of creole ancestry, it would make sense that most of the characters were of a lighter hue. However, in this book, all of the female characters who were considered attractive or desired were light and all of the men of that type were dark. Full stop for me.
